When September comes to Booby’s Bay

When September comes to Booby’s Bay

Saturday was another outing to the coast and this time I didn’t stray too far from Fridays – Treyarnon Bay and I ventured just a couple of miles round the Trevose headland up to Booby’s Bay.  Booby’s bay is much quieter than Treyarnon mainly due to to walk you have to make to get to it and the fact that when the tide is in there is no beach or sand to speak of, all that is let is some very big rocks, most people bypass Booby’s and head to the mush sandier and more family friendly Constantine bay. Again not much cloud showed its face but the light was nice and golden and there were some nice reflections from the wet rocks as the sun went down below the distant horizon.

Treyarnon September Sunset

Treyarnon September Sunset

Friday nigh was the start to a good weekend out by the sea and on the Cornish coast.  I had been watching the weather all week and knew that it was going to be a good possibility of getting some good light and may be a nice sunset. I went to one of my favourite spots Treyarnon bay, near Padstow on the North coast, as you cant beat a North coast sunset in September – well usually, not that it was bad or anything to be honest I probably should have found a spot to shoot from a little earlier but it was just nice having a brain clearing walk along the cliffs for a few minutes and not just focusing solely on the photograph. Well the cloud didn’t show up like I thought it would but there are so many great little nooks and bits of cliffs at Treyarnon its hard not to to find a new angle every time I go. Treyarnon bay is a lovely place all year round and being on the South west Coast path its has great walks in both directions if you have the time to explore the dramatic North coast of Cornwall.
